SIP.edu-Install-Questions.txt Checklist for Higher Education Institutions for getting a CF Disk Pre-Built 2005-12-18 jtodd@loligo.com v1.1 See "README-FIRST.txt" if you have not done so already. This document serves two purposes: first, it collects in one place all of the data you'll need to configure your Asterisk SIP.edu gateway for self-configuration. Secondly, if you choose to have John Todd (me) auto-configure a flash card for your system, I'll need all of this data completed before I can create the flash card customized for your site. I'll only do this for higher education institutions - if you're a private enterprise, you're on your own - there are plenty of documents here to make things work. :-) As I have a day job that has assisted in supplying hardware for this project to me for testing, and whose business involves interconnecting SIP entities, it may be the case that if you complete this and send it to me, you may receive email (email ONLY) about some of the offerings of Tello which would work very well on your system once it's installed. This configuration file and process is not a sales "lure" or anything that is so overtly commercial, but I do feel that the support Tello has given me could be repaid by some additional users on the Tello network. Besides, the intent of the SIP.edu project is to interconnect Internet media endpoints (such as VoIP) which is also Tello's goal but in a more commercial setting. Of course, if you configure the system yourself and don't have me put all this data on a CF card for you, there is no reason that I'd ever need your contact information, so this is certainly not mandatory to get the system functional. I am actually hoping that very few people need this method, and that the instructions in the other files are sufficient for getting things running without resorting to mailing cards back and forth. However, I understand that sometimes circumstances are not so cooperative, so this is a "last-resort" option. Payment: I see that 64mb Sandisk cards are going for about $18 on eBay these days, plus shipping (twice). So that's probably $25, which sounds fair. Send me $25 via PayPal (same as my email address: jtodd@loligo.com) and I'll try to have a card out to you. I don't "pre-order" cards right now, so there will be an interval while I order the card on eBay, get it delivered, configure it, and ship it to you. This can be in parallel to your waiting for your Soekris box to arrive which if course you will need to buy separately. Alternately, you can buy a 64mb CF card yourself, ship it to me, and I'll send it back for $2.00 (instead of $25) for just the S/H in the lower 48 states. Contact me via email to arrange this type of configuration.
