Hi, Something caught my eye in these pictures. The Glass Oiler! did the guys in India supply that oiler? Wine glass style oilers like those are just COOL looking.
Thanks, Doug
Yes, it was supplied with the machine from India. I was pleased to see it – I was really expecting something steel and dingy, but that’s the nicest part of the whole machine. eBay is still the best location for older versions of these, but they’re starting to get pricey. The standard “glass cylinder” versions are easy to find and to replace – it’s just a section of straight tube. But this one is very nice – curved glass to the base of the oiler. Which means when I break it I’ll have to find a whole antique oiler to replace it, since getting a replacement glass from India would take months, if it could be obtained at all. I suppose I could talk to a glass artisan here in Portland to see if they could make one, but that seems like overkill.
